Our Story
Welcome to the Cooper Research Group page!
We are a team of graduate students at the University of California, Davis, Earth and Planetary Science department, helmed by Dr. Kari Cooper.
Broadly, we study volcanology, igneous petrology, geochemistry, and geochronology. More specifically, we study the thermal and chemical evolution of crustal magma reservoirs that relate to volcanic eruptions.
By studying the magma plumbing system beneath volcanoes, we hope to improve the understanding of magmatic systems, and the eruptions they feed, in order to facilitate better hazard mitigation plans for communities living near active volcanoes.
